Eyelashes P2

So as you may recall from Eyelashes P1 I am all about the lengthy lashes.

Coconut oil applied twice a day? Nope. (BTW now I'm hearing I was supposed to use vaseline. UGH. Maybe I'll take another 6 weeks from my life for that.)

Now we're on to RapidLash. Here are some pictures of the packaging. You can buy it at Ulta for $50 a tube or at Costco for $50 for two tubes. On Amazon it has amazing ratings.

So I applied this stuff every night for 6 weeks (Okay I missed 2 nights. And one I woke up at 2 AM and applied then.) You cannot wear eye make up for 8 hours after applying this and you MUST remove all of your existing eye make up before application. I'm starting to think that has something to do with its success. Many sleep in their make up and remove it the next morning. This is detrimental to your lashes and so just having a product that forces you to do that will automatically give your lashes a fighting chance. I unfortunately don't have that particular brand of laziness. Well mostly I just don't wear eye make up and I take showers at night.

And now for the reveal!

Yep: Nada. Nothin'. Zilch. No discernible difference. What a waste.

So I think I'll try vaseline next. Why? It's kinda a busy time in my life. Finding time for an eyelash perm (especially my first one ever) may be difficult in the next few weeks and I don't want to lose time on this adventure. Picking up a thing of vaseline is faster and I can apply it nightly.

Knock on wood for vaseline because if it doesn't work and I fall in love with perms/ extensions we'll have a budgetary problem. Eek!

Eyelashes P1

I'm embarking on a journey to make my eyelashes larger. With the lack of hair this will be even more noticeable. Also as I've talked about my current haircut not being as feminine sometimes I feel a little better with some mascara on and who doesn't like long eyelashes?

I'm game to try the following.

Coconut Oil, Growth Serum, Eyelash Perming, and Eyelash Extensions.

I'm talking eyelashes like these (these are the magic of eyelash extensions - mm mm good):

So for the past 6 weeks I have been using coconut oil(pure, unrefined, cold pressed, organic, extra virgin) as a topical application. I put it on in the morning and before bed by scooping out about a half teaspoon amount and letting it dissolve on the upper lid of my eye. then I use the broad side of my finger to push the liquid through my top lashes from above and back up across the lower lid and through the lower lashes. On occasion I even put enough on that it was difficult to see through. The brand I used is below and from Costco:

Let's see what happened!

Do you see a difference? Because I sure as hell didn't. Sometimes I thought my bottom lashes were more prominent? But really overall I'd say it was a waste. It may have done something to my under eye dark circles? The pictures seem to show that and my mother made a comment. But the pictures also show a lightening of the upper lid and most of my dark circles are on the nose-side of the eye so can't be seen very well here.

So we're on to the next one! I'll be trying RapidLash. Check back in 6 weeks to see the results!

PS: If you were unaware there is a thing called Eyelash transplants. Happy googling!
